For this lab the following ELA standards were covered:
-Understanding and accurately portraying theme in a writing assignment
-Successfully using figurative language in a writing assignment (simile, metaphor, onomatopoeia, etc.)
Students were given the directive of writing a poem with a partner. Poems were required to be one stanza long and have a clear theme. After completing the poem, the pairs had the choice of using technology, building tools (Legos, Strawbees, or Kinect), or art tools to depict the theme of their poem.
